Incorporate Environmental Education Into Your Lesson Plan!

Environmental education needs to be incorporated from a very early onset. After all, it is when we are young that we begin to form our world view and start to form many of our habits. And everyone knows that bad habits die hard!

Environmental education should be taught even to our youngest students. Even young children can begin to understand how their individual actions can affect the environment. Even young children can learn to take personal responsibility for the preservation and restoration of our environment.

This does not mean that you need to involve young children in an in depth discussion about global warming and how the emissions of our cars contribute to it. After all, these kids do not even know how to drive these carbon dioxide-releasing vehicles!

But, even the youngest kids can learn how to turn off the water while brushing their teeth. Even the youngest kids can learn to pick up litter that they might have dropped, and even to pick up other litter. Even the youngest kids can learn to appreciate and protect the environment more fully, because of a little environmental education.

Any teacher can incorporate environmental education into his or her plan. If you teach at a school that does not have an environmental education program, that does necessarily mean that you can not incorporate some basic lessons.

In truth, environmental education can be incorporated into lessons in every subject. Quite obviously, environmental education can be incorporated into different sciences, like geology, biology, etc. But it can also be incorporated into math, English, geography, history, and other such subjects.

You can do math story problems about garbage, water, or land, etc. In English, you can read stories about the environment, etc. In geography, you can explain how polar ice caps are melting or how cultures are changing because of the changing environment. In history, you can talk about how much the environment has affected humans over the years and how much we have affected it. Mention environmental laws, etc.

Even if you do not incorporate environmental education into your day to day learning, you can still have one or two special environmental education days throughout the year. Invite a forest ranger or a conservationalist, etc. to come speak to your class. Bring out coloring books on the cycle of water and why we must conserve it. Watch the animated film “Fern Gully!” Learn about extinct animals. Learn about endangered animals.

If you are not happy with how the environment is right now, do something about it! Incorporate environmental education into the classroom at a very early age! You may feel like you are simply passing on the problem to a younger generation, but this younger generation can help solve the problem if they are given the tools at an early age.

Find Out How To Incorporate Trust In Your Brand

Stand Out From Your Competitors With These Branding Ideas

Developing your brand is perhaps one of the most important aspects of your business. However in today’s cut throat competition it’s critical that you stand out from your competitors and form a brand unlike any other. At the same time, if you business is online then it is even more important to develop your brand as a trustworthy one. Because your customers probably have never heard of you before, they probably do not know where you are located, and probably don’t know your product, it is essential to show them that you sell an exception product.

Show them Everything

Don’t be afraid when developing your brand to show pictures of your business inside and out. While you may not be operating out of a high rise tower downtown, pictures of your office will create an element of trust with your customers. At the same time, make sure to place employee profiles along with pictures so that they know exactly who they are dealing with. Nothing is worse than dealing with people when you do not know if they are experts in the industry. At the same time, place company references on your website. These can be your mission statement, values, newsletters, company news, and your handbook. This information can provide your customers an insight on how your company works and operates.

Show them How its Made

Another great idea is to show exactly how your product is made or works. Showing videos of the processes that it takes to create the product will go a long way in creating trust with your client. However if you do not directly manufacture your products then you still can show informative videos and articles on how your product works and the best ways to use it. At the same time, don’t be afraid to tell your customers some its weaknesses.

Creating trust is one of the first steps of branding your business and is perhaps one of the most important. Especially in today’s world of eCommerce, shoppers can never be to sure what kind of products and services that a company provides. That being said use these tips to help build trust with your clients.Drew Johnson is a Public Relations intern for Kinetica Media, an Internet marketing company that works to harness the power of websites, email and search marketing to enable businesses of all sizes to get and keep more customers.. How to Incorporate Kwanzaa Into Your Homeschool Curriculum

With the wellspring of cultural knowledge available to educate African American children about our rich heritage a solid anchor for all of this information is Kwanzaa. Unless you know where you come from, you can never arrive at where you should be going (huge paraphrase). Let's look at this quote...

Kwanzaa was created to introduce and reinforce seven basic values of African culture which contribute to building and reinforcing family, community and culture among African American people as well as Africans throughout the world African community. These values are called the Nguzo Saba which in Swahili means the Seven Principles. Developed by Dr. Karenga, the Nguzo Saba stand at the heart of the origin and meaning of Kwanzaa, for it is these values which are not only the building blocks for community but also serve to reinforce and enhance them. Do a search for the Official Kwanzaa Web Site and read to your hearts content.

After learning American history, World history, the history of art, music, writing and the like - African American history is a must and I will touch on a way to add Kwanzaa to your curriculum.

First let's start with the little ones - the simplest way that we use is with coloring pictures. Give them examples of of the seven symbols of Kwanzaa which you can find online and let them color them as they desire. Remember to write the names of each symbol and tell them the meaning of each one. As they get older they will begin to recall the meaning of the symbols and ask questions about each one. Parents prepare ahead of time to answer their questions about Kwanzaa as they will ask about each one and it will probably be at a time when you are not at your computer or near a Kwanzaa calendar to remember. Our children need good principles to guide them thru life and this is an invaluable way to instill them.

For those a little more mature in age get them to make a Kwanzaa calendar to place in their room, with the symbols, their names and meaning. As an added way to remember Kwanzaa we discuss each separate symbol, name and meaning each month leading up to Kwanzaa - giving you extra material to which subjects like history, culture, languages, writing and composition can be budded from throughout the year.

Starting at those at the ages of 16 and up we let them choose a principle and go online to research examples of each Kwanzaa symbol being applied in the past, present and produce an example that can be used in the future. The future application of their respective Kwanzaa symbol can be next year or five years from now and triggers their use of critical thinking - something that young leaders need to practice in order to be part of building family, community and culture.

A more in-depth lesson plan that can be used as a homeschooling guide to Kwanzaa can be found at the Learning to Give website. Each age group has a different activity planned for celebrating Kwanzaa in a more structured format.

Because of the richness of Kwanzaa and the principles that it points to as a reinforcement for community, family and culture it's values should be rehearsed year-round just as Christmas in July and other holidays are touched upon out of season. We have the future of our nation's principles in our hands let's not forget to remind each other to keep those principles.

How To Incorporate Mediterranean Decorating Into Your Home

When you think of the Mediterranean, immediately, locations like Italy, Spain, and Greece come into mind. These are the areas that create the basis for much of the decorating that goes on in homes all over this country. Rich, earthy colors, and many decorative pieces displayed throughout the home are some signature items that reveal this decorating style.

A home with a Mediterranean touch is a colorful and textured home indeed. There are rich, earthy tones plastered on all of the walls. There are rusty colored pots with herbs growing on kitchen window sills. If there are no real herbs growing, there are pictures on the walls of herbs growing so lightly that one could almost smell the pungent oregano scent wafting through the kitchen inviting one to a freshly cooked spaghetti dinner.

Throughout a home of this type, there will probably be knickknacks reminiscent of the old country. There may be pottery with olives painted on them. There may be religious relics that would bring one back to the holy city of the Vatican. There may be scenery of vineyards and bottled wine. There will most likely be a wine rack with Merlot, Chianti, and Sauvignon. These items will adorn a house fashioned after a Mediterranean spirit.

This home is furnished with a variety of types of furniture. There may be very simple and practical furniture. Chairs and couches that are functional as well as eye catching may be in this type of home. There also may be very ornate and heavily decorated furnishings. This type of furniture may have textures such as raised velvet paisley on a colorful pillow. There is truly a large variety of furnishings in a house decorated after the Mediterranean style, but again, these furnishings will have color. The colors of the furniture will either contrast with or match the colors in their chosen rooms. Either way, they will show their origination with not much more than a glance.

Tile is a necessity in a Mediterranean home. It can be fixated on a kitchen backsplash, or adorn a foyer. No matter if it’s permanent or decorates the side of a mirror or other accessory; rest assured, there will be tile in this home and it will be mosaic. Mediterranean style design does not see tile just for practical flooring, rather, tile is seen as artwork. It enhances the color scheme that is laid out on the walls or it adds texture to a decorative piece in the home. No matter how it’s used, it will be present and it will be gorgeous. It’s hard to compare to a mosaic tile that was painstakingly pieced together into perfection.

A home decorated in the Mediterranean style is indeed a piece of artwork. It’s a beauty to see and pleasant to live in. The best feature of all, it’s easy to create this style in your own home.

Lee Dobbins writes for Home DIY - Home Decorating and Home Improvement where you can learn more about different decorating styles including how to decorate each room in your home with the Mediterranean decorating style.

Incorporate Online and Protect Your Assets

Incorporating online is probably one of the easiest ways to incorporate your business. Incorporating online generally only requires standard information such as the names and addresses of the initial officers, and sometimes their titles. Incorporating online helps take care of all the steps required for the initial filing with the Secretary of State.

By incorporating online many steps are taken care of on your behalf. Typically this includes a thorough corporation name search, the preparation and review your articles of incorporation, submission to the Secretary of State’s office, and payment to the Secretary of State’s office.

Often times people will chose to incorporate their business online so that they don’t have to deal with the stresses of preparing their own documents, or dealing with the Secretary of State.

After the articles of incorporation are reviewed by the state, an approval notice is sent, which is then relayed to you immediately. Approved documentation will arrive shortly after approval. It is that easy and pain free when using an online service. Now using a service is not good in all situations, and many businesses have complex structures and serious legal issues that should be addressed. You should consult an attorney if you have serious legal issues.

When incorporating online be sure to use a company that has a good reputation in the online incorporation industry. There are many people that are hesitant to order online though, most reputable sites provide links to their membership to well respected organizations such as the Better Business Bureau.

Incorporating online is not necessary but it can alleviate a lot of work that is just time and energy consuming. Knowing that someone else is handling your documents and monitoring their status provides many with peace of mind.

Why Should You Incorporate Your Business?

If you do well with your business, you may want to incorporate it. There are many advantages gained by incorporating. For one, if (and this is a BIG if, but you never know), if you are ever sued, your personal assets will be considered separate from your business assets. On the off chance that anything like that ever happens, you will be immensely thankful that you incorporated.

It works the other way too, if you are ever personally sued, all your business assets are safe. Legally, you and your corporation are two entirely separate entities.

Another reason for incorporating is to save money on taxes. Talk to an accountant about the different ways to incorporate – if you qualify for an S-corporation or an LLC, you may save considerably in taxes. Plus, it’s always nice to pay your taxes on a monthly or at least a quarterly basis rather than owe one giant, lump sum to Uncle Sam on April 15th.

Many a business has gone bankrupt due to unpaid taxes.

Another benefit of incorporating is to convey professionalism. Most people recognize that the abbreviation of Inc or LLC after a company name is evidence of incorporation. Your prospects may take you more seriously. And every little bit helps.

You may get a few more sales just due to the fact that you look like a real company!

So talk to your accountant today and find out if incorporating is the right move for you to make. It takes some time to start the process, but can be well worth it in many instances.

How to Incorporate Yoga in Your Fitness Regimen

With the several benefits attached to yoga including increased flexibility while simultaneously increasing strength and a sound mind, its no wonder several people are interested in Yoga.

However, in spite of its benefits, several people may not want to give up on their existing fitness regimens so they ask: “Well, can I combine it with the exercise I do now?”

Sure, why not?

As a matter of fact this will not only supplement your current fitness training regimen, it will give it an all-around augmentation.

Here’s how to include yoga in your plan based on personal research and study.

First of all, to warm up for what it is you might be doing-Calisthenics, Weight-Lifting, Pilates etc, try Yoga’s Sun Salutations.

Trust me, in regards to loosening up the large and smaller muscle groups and warming them up, when practiced in high numbers such as 24 and upwards, these babies give you strength.

Hey, Bruce Lee was said to do them as well as several Eastern Wrestlers, so it can’t be wrong.

This is the very core of yoga itself.

This exercise is a combination of Yoga Poses, Breathing exercise, Sun Bathing and Prayer. It is the warm-up of a yoga class or personal yoga session and is a combination of 12 poses that are performed in a synchronized motion with emphasis on rhythmic breathing.

My next suggestion would be the yoga-esque calisthenics exercise known as the Hindu Push-Up. If one exercise could work the entire upper body, hips and depending on your execution, legs, this will be it.

However, since I said it is a yoga derivative, you could simply use its starter position, the downward facing dog, to stretch the lower body and its ending position, the cobra pose, to stretch the entire upper body.

If all else ‘fails’, hey, the simplest (yet hardest) yoga pose that could (should) be included is the ‘corpse’ or ‘relaxation’ pose. This, as the name suggests will aid in relaxing and cooling down the muscles after exercise.

There are tons of other poses that could serve as boons for specific muscle groups such as the peacock pose for arms, the triangle pose for the legs, and many more, but suffice it to say if you’re considering adding yoga to you fitness routine, it sure won’t hurt and could possibly help a whole lot.

In Friendship,

An Upholstered Bench To Incorporate Style and Function

How do you envision your dream home? Is it rich in color and texture, romantic, cozy, warm, comfortable and inviting all at the same time? Would you love to incorporate colorful fabrics and rich textures in your home's decor but are not sure how to pull it off? You are not alone. The truth is: Many people long to incorporate the use of textured and patterned fabric into their decorating style but are not sure where they should begin.

One of the easiest and least expensive steps that can be taken to create a room that is rich in textured color is to purchase a piece of upholstered furniture. An upholstered bench is usually perfect for most people who are just beginning to experiment with decorating with fabrics because it is both beautiful and versatile.

With an upholstered bench you can choose a piece of furniture that is truly unique and captivating without having to replace all of your room’s existing furniture or rearrange the room’s layout overmuch. If you are daring, you can choose an upholstered bench with a bright, vivid fabric which will bring that added flair to your room without having to commit to a huge change. If you are looking for a something a little more subtle, perhaps an upholstered bench covered with a fabric similar in color but different in texture to your existing furnishings may be in order.

The bottom line is that there are numerous options when it comes to upholstered benches. And the beauty is that they can be placed in any room of the house including the bedroom, hallway and living room, just to name a few.

One of the most popular places to incorporate an upholstered bench is the bedroom. Upholstered bedroom benches can be used to add a romantic or Old-World feel to your intimate space. An upholstered bench can be matched and blended with practically any existing bedroom furniture or can be selected to make a bold statement or to become the focal point of the room.

Bedroom benches can also be covered with rich, colorful fabrics chosen from a large tapestry of colors and designs. Want something a little more personal or customized? Simply cover your upholstered bench with your own needlepoint work or family heirloom fabrics.

The entry hallway is also another popular place for an upholstered bench. What could be better than welcoming visitors into an elegant entryway complete with a beautifully upholstered bench where guests can sit to catch their breath or comfortably remove their overcoats and soiled shoes?

Need some extra storage space? Storage upholstered benches can be the perfect solution for non-existing or small and cramped closets. They are ideal for storing off-season bed linens and clothes or personal treasures and family keepsakes.

Not only are upholstered benches beautiful and practical, they are also very affordable. You can purchase an upholstered bench for as little as $150. Of course, you can spend a great deal more than that if your tastes and wants lead you in that direction.

So if you are looking for a piece of furniture both rich in textured color and practical, maybe you should browse the large selection of upholstered bench styles. You may just find something that is perfect.

Incorporate these HEALTHY HABITS in your life

1. Never skip your breakfast. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Still, many of us skip it thinking that it will help us shed pounds. When you skip breakfast your blood sugar levels, as well as other nutrient levels drop, depriving you of the required nutrition and energy for the rest of the day. Breakfast eaters have a more positive attitude toward school and work, and they perform better.

2. Bite into something good. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Fruits are cool and juicy, so they get you the water you need to stay hydrated and they also provide the vitamins and nutrients that fat-free snack foods don't. They're good and they taste sweet - and some contain antioxidants that help prevent aging. Healthy habits include eating a lot of fruits.

3. Eat regular meals. Skipping meals can lead to out-of-control hunger, often resulting in overeating. When you're very hungry, it's also tempting to forget about good nutrition. Snacking between meals can help curb hunger, but don't eat so much that your snack becomes an entire meal.

4. Quit smoking. Now, studies show that quitting smoking, you can restore your heart function back to that of a non-smoker within a few years. You'll breathe easier, cut down your chances for heart disease, cancer, and more. But you knew that, right? Also, if you're not a smoker, stay away from those who do. Secondhand smoke is a major killer - don't be afraid to tell people gently that you'd prefer it if they didn't smoke around you.

5. Exercise Daily! You don't have to be a professional athlete - just make time for 15-20 minutes of exercise daily. Take a walk, dance crazily to music, go for a jog, play volleyball on the beach, whatever it takes to get your heart pumping for a little while.

6. Get your sleep. Getting at least 8 hours of sleep every night can extend your life. Your body has time to recharge every night so it's fresh and ready to face the onslaught of the next day.

7. Every day, devote a little time for yourserlf. Take some time out of your "busy" schedule. First, eliminate all forms of intrusion. Then close your eyes, breathe deeply and let your thoughts float downstream like a log carried by the river. You can practice meditation or relax in a hot bath with aromatherapy. When a thought comes up, just watch it float away.

Choosing to Incorporate for Small Businesses

For the novice business owner getting incorporated seems like an endless stream of red tape, forms and complications. How to get incorporated is one question that they simply have too many doubts about and too few answers to be able to make an educated decision. Luckily there are an army of consultants, lawyers, and accountants out there who can help provide the answers to how to get incorporated and most of them for a minimum fee would be happy to assist.

The first question to answer is not how to get incorporated, it is should the business be registered as a corporation in the first place. My belief is yes. Unless you are a really small company, less than $25,000 in annual sales, no employees, working from your home and the products or services you sell have very limited liability exposure, you should be incorporated.

Any good accountant or business lawyer can help a business determine very quickly whether incorporation is the best business model to pursue. Finding a good accountant or business lawyer may be difficult however. In my experience there are several accountants and lawyers that will tell their client not to incorporate, with no real reason or explanation, when in fact they should have been. There are several instances I have worked with business owners running as a sole proprietorship for the last three years. Just looking at the previous year in business if they had been incorporated we could have saved them tens of thousands of dollars in most cases.

Once that initial decision has been reached these same experts can provide all of the answers required as to how to get incorporated. This will include assistance with the filing of articles of incorporation which can be registered with the state in which the business may wish to operate, or in other more business friendly states like Delaware or Nevada who encourage non resident incorporation by individuals outside of the state.

A Corporation has three distinct groups associated with the entity; officers, directors, and shareholders of the corporation. In filing for incorporation most states require the names and addresses of these groups of the corporation, at least the primary officers and majority shareholders.

There are also a number of other requirements that have to be met in order for a business to be incorporated and these include the payment of all applicable fees, taxes and levies of the state in which the business may be incorporated. There are no easy answers to the question of how to incorporate a business but there are great resources out there to help every business navigate their way through the system and make the best possible choice for their business interests.

Affiliate Tip - Incorporate Your Business

It's time to make your business a business. If you've been using your social security number when you join affiliate programs and conduct other business, you may want to rethink things.

As your business grows, there are a number of reasons why you might want to incorporate.

Reasons to incorporate your business include people taking you seriously. When you add "Inc." to your company name, it makes your business appear bigger and more established than somebody working solo in their home office.

Also, there can be tax benefits when you incorporate a business, as well as some liability protection. Check in with your lawyer and accountant (they are also key for a growing business to be sure you are doing things correctly).

If you are aiming to convey that your business is a real workplace, you'll want to get a business phone line. Do you want potential business partners hearing the cute outgoing message on your regular home phone?

If the cost of a second phone line is cost prohibitive, have a look at VoIP (Voice-Over-Internet Protocol). VoIP is a technology that enables you to make phone calls through a broadband Internet connection rather than a regular phone line. This way you can save on monthly service fees and call charges.

Another step to consider to enhance your image as a real business is to have your domains registered and you business mail directed to a P.O. Box or a mailbox at the UPS Store.

Not only does this give a more professional impression, but it enables you to maintain privacy by not sharing your home address so openly.

What is the Best Location to Incorporate

Okay, you have made the decision to go ahead and incorporate to protect yourself. The next question is where is the best place to do so?

One of the most misunderstood elements of business law is jurisdiction. Jurisdiction simply refers to the issue of what laws control particular situation. Actually, a better way to put it is whose laws control? In many business law niches, state laws are the guiding light, not federal law. The formation of business entities is one such place.

So, what location should you pick? In most situations, it is the state you will be conducting the business in. Remember, state law is controlling here. Nearly all states view businesses being run within their borders as falling under their jurisdiction. This means you are required to comply with the laws of the state. You are also required to pay taxes and fees the state requires for the running of your business.

Ah, but what about Nevada? For those new to the process, Nevada is touted as a great place to form your business entity. The state has very minor taxes, so many trump it as the best state to incorporate. There is, however, one problem. If you incorporate in Nevada, but run your business out of an office in your state, you are almost always violating the laws of your state. When tax agencies and regulatory groups look at business entities, the state of incorporation is not the issue. Instead, the issue is where is the business actually being conducted. If you incorporate your business in Nevada, but run it out of Los Angeles, you could be in big trouble. California will eventually figure it out. When they do, you will be penalized and assessed back taxes. It is an ugly situation.

There is one way around this situation. It involves a double incorporation strategy. Essentially, you incorporate one business in Nevada and one in your state. The Nevada entity runs the basic business. The entity in your state then manages the Nevada entity for a fee. This may sound great at first glance, but it is an expensive option. Make sure you talk with an attorney before going down this road.

If you are incorporating on your own, you should probably stick with the state you will be running the business out of. If you have other ideas, make sure to sit down with a lawyer or accountant to discuss your plan.

Incorporate A Water Feature In Your Landscaping

A water feature placed strategically in a landscape or garden provides a dynamic element to what is usually a static design. Water elements provide tranquility and a sense of calm. The sound and visual effects provided by flowing water are known for their soothing and stress relieving qualities. As a side benefit water features have been known to increase property values by as much as 10%.

Water features can be as simplistic as a statue acting as a fountain to highly complex designs that mimic natural features with multiple terraces and water cascading over a rock bed. Water flow can be slow or swift, with the feature used as a background or as the predominant design element. Only your imagination and budget control the final appearance.

Attract wildlife, from an abundance of birds to squirrels and chipmunks and depending on the location of your property larger animals such as deer. Depending on your climate adding fish to ponds and streams enhances the overall water feature.

The addition of a water feature allows you to dramatically expand the types of plants and flora that can be incorporated into your landscaping.

Many individuals hesitate when considering adding a water feature because of they feel that they are complex to install and require a great deal of maintenance. The complexity of the installation is relative to how dramatic the water feature is and the level of maintenance is relative to the initial investment in the quality of the pumping, aeration and filtration equipment installed.

In the past it was necessary to buy numerous components for your water feature and hope that all the different pieces of equipment were compatible with one another. Now many manufactures are supplying complete kits that contain all of the necessary pumps, filters, aerators, piping and connectors to ensure that all of the pieces of hardware work in conjunction with one another.

Once you have determined that you are going to install a water feature within your landscaping check with your municipal building department for any special requirements and if a permit is required. Remember that water features are difficult to relocate and usually expensive to modify. Planning is the key to success.

For additional information on landscaping your home or other renovation projects, visit Renovation Headquarters.

Why Incorporate Your Business

There are several different forms of business organizations available. This refers to the legal arrangements of the business. The form you choose for your business is the form that best suits your purposes. There are different legal and tax implications of each. The three forms are sole proprietor, partnership and corporation.

A sole proprietor is an individual who is in business for himself. He supplies all of the skill, knowledge and capital for the business. He performs all of the business functions associated with the business. He receives all of the profit which is taxed at individual income tax rates. He also bears all of the liability. There is no distinction between his personal assets and the assets of the business.

A partnership is when two people go into business together. They supply all of the capital and skill and knowledge. They perform all of the business functions. They share the profits and liabilities. The profits of the partnership are taxed at individual income tax rates. As with the sole proprietorship, there is no distinction between the assets of the business and the assets of its partners. This means that each partner is responsible for the business debts of the other partner.

A corporation is owned by its stockholders. It is a legal entity in its own and has all of the rights and responsibilities of a legal person. The corporation is responsible for its own debts. The assets of corporation are subject to the claims of its creditors; the assets of the stockholder or owners are not. This is one of the big advantages of the corporate form of business. The owners are not legally liable for the liabilities of the corporation although they can be sued or held responsibilities for some criminal activities. The corporation pays its own taxes, taxed at the corporate tax rate. However, the stockholders receive a share of the corporation’s profits in the form of dividends. Dividends are taxed at the individual’s tax rate. Dividends are a part of corporate profits that are taxed twice, once at the corporate tax rate and again at the individual tax rate.

When deciding which form of business organization is best, you may want to seek advice from your lawyer and accountant. There are advantages and disadvantages to each form of business and which one is best for your particular business depends on legal and tax considerations.
